El Mozart del pentagrama de cristal
THE STORY BEHIND THIS CROSS
El Mozart del Pentagrama de Cristal was born as a tribute to Agustín Tapia — not only to the world No. 1, but to the journey behind the player: the boy from Catamarca who began alongside his grandfather, left home at a young age, crossed an ocean and eventually reached the top of his sport.
This Cross takes that same story and moves it into cumbia.
Unlike other Crosses, the motivation here was not about changing the language or carrying the song into another culture. It was something more personal: the idea of bringing the tribute closer to musical styles that Agustín himself might enjoy.
Cumbia changes the emotional temperature of the song. The story remains the same, but the rhythm gives it a warmer, more celebratory character. The sacrifice, distance and determination are still there, yet they now coexist with the feeling of celebration that comes after the journey.
And behind this version there is a simple hope.
Perhaps one day the song will reach Agustín. Perhaps he will recognize something of himself in the story. And perhaps, if the music connects with him, this version could accompany one of those moments worth remembering — a victory, a celebration, a gathering with the people who were there long before the world knew his name.
Because this Cross was not created to change the meaning of the tribute.
It was created with the hope that, somehow, the tribute might find its way to the person who inspired it.
