Rock DJ

Released in 2000 as the lead single from Robbie Williams’ album “Sing When You’re Winning,” “Rock DJ” was co-written with Guy Chambers and built around a sample of Barry White’s “It’s Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next to Me.” Its mix of dance-pop, playful bravado and spoken rhythmic lines became a major UK hit, amplified by a famously provocative video. For this Cross, we moved the song from English into French and recast its pop groove as male-led rap. The result sharpens the flow and attitude of the original, replacing its glossy dance-floor feel with tighter verses and a distinctly French urban pulse while preserving its confident, mischievous energy.
